The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in a similar role and a B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or relevant field.

Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or relevant field.

Responsibilities of R&D Chemist

• Formulation & Product Development

• Develop and optimize innovative formulations for skincare (creams, lotions, serums, cleansers), color cosmetics (foundations, lipsticks, eyeshadows, etc.), baby care (shampoo, lotion, rash cream), and home care (floor cleaners, dish wash, detergents).

• Modify existing formulations as per market trends and customer feedback.

• Select appropriate raw materials and ensure compatibility and stability.

• Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure all formulations comply with BIS, FDA, EU, and other relevant cosmetic/home care regulations.

• Third-party Manufacturing Coordination

• Work closely with third-party manufacturers to scale up formulations from lab to pilot and full-scale production.

• Conduct trials at manufacturing sites, troubleshoot issues, and validate batch reproducibility.

• Liaise with QA/QC teams for process validation and documentation.

• Testing & Quality Control

• Conduct laboratory testing (stability, pH, viscosity, microbial, sensory).

• Coordinate with external labs for dermatological/safety testing if needed.

• Innovation & Market Research

• Keep up-to-date with global trends, new ingredients, technologies, and competitor benchmarking.

• Recommend new product ideas based on research and customer insights.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication & inter-personal skills, Strong formulation and troubleshooting skills, Knowledge of cosmetic/home care regulations, Proficient in MS Office, formulation software (e.g., ChemDraw, COSMETIC360) and coordination skills with internal teams and external vendors.
